Model, dancer, entrepreneur, personality… What CAN’T Kentrell Collins do?! Straight from Alabama, Kentrell was born to be a star! The glamorous influencer shared with New Celebrity all about his dance background, the truth behind being a reality star, and the plans he has for his growing empire.
“Be who you are, embrace what you do, and don’t worry about what the next man wants you to.”
At a young age, Kentrell would pass by the female dancers at Mardi Gras and say “I want to do that.” Starting by dancing in the restroom by himself, he has now made it his living and empire. As the owner of a dance studio, leader of the Prancing Elites, makeup CEO, and former Reality Star, Kentrell is using his platform to inspire his followers in positive ways. Helping kids, teens, and HBCU college students from Atlanta to New Orleans, Kentrell has inspired aspiring dancers to be just like him. However, Kentrell’s dancing career did not come easy. During his junior year of high school, Kentrell was denied an opportunity to audition for his high school’s dance team because he was not a girl. Even though he was helping choreograph most of the dances! It was not common for people in Alabama to see a boy dancing on a high school sports team, yet Kentrell was ready to change that. “We rebelled against the school system, got a group of friends, and started dancing at the football games.”
It wasn’t long before dancing at the football games turned into being on TV! After Kentrell knew he would stop at nothing to dance, he became captain of the Prancing Elites. The team’s hard work and carefree attitude caught the attention of many, including the one and only, Shaquille O’Neal who posted about the Prancing Elites on his Twitter back in 2013. Since then, the Prancing Elites have been featured on Comedy Central’s, “Tosh.O” and “The Real”. As they made their appearances on national television, they had other production companies reach out until they were given the opportunity to star in their own series on Oxygen! As Kentrell looks back on how far he has come, he thanks his home state of Alabama for making him who he is. He knows that being rejected from his high school’s dance team, helped him become the entertainment personality that we all know and love.
One thing Kentrell Collins loves is glitz and glam! After putting some glitter on while getting ready for a basketball game back in 2013, Kentrell fell in love with the artistry of make-up. Recently, Kentrell has taken his love and launched a new business venture, his own makeup brand, Kentrell Cosmetics! From an eyeshadow palette to liquid pigments, Kentrell has put his creativity into his brand. He is looking forward to expanding his brand in the future by featuring lip products, foundation, concealer, and possibly skin care. There is a lot in the works for Kentrell and he is always focused on the next step!
Social media has helped Kentrell build his name. From doing commercials to being on reality TV, Kentrell has had many opportunities come his way. “People are always watching.” He uses this to his advantage and PUTS ON A SHOW! He never lets the hate get to him, Kentrell stays focused on his goals and his motivation to influence.
